Tasmanias Rugged West Coast: Escorted Group Tour

The first day is arrival day in Hobart. Next day we drive you out of Hobart. You start cycling on a lonesome country road. In the afternoon we can visit Mount Field National Park with its famous Russell Falls. The "Wild Way" takes us up into the highlands where we stay in an old hydro village. En route to Queenstown we will visit the Lake St. Claire National Park on the next day and undertake many short but extremely nice walks.

The next 30 km to our next stop, the "tourist-magnet" of Strahan, we have to manage 273 narrow bends. In dry weather we may undertake one of Tasmania most fascinating walk along the bird river to the settlement of Pillinger. On the day off in Strahan you have the opportunity to take a half-day cruise into the spectacular wilderness of the Gordon River, one of the worlds last remaining pristine rivers.

We continue on a flat road to the old mining town of Zeehan and later on a hilly road to Roseberry, where we could do the 3 hours walk to the Montezuma Falls with its suspension bridge. After a night in the old Hydro village of Tulla we make our way back up into the high country and enter famous Cradle Mountain National Park where you can walk around romantic Dove Lake or do even longer walks.

The following night will be spent in a remote and beautifully quiet location. The next day, after a long descent, we are back on the flat and can do excursions like the walk to the Alum Cliffs and a visit to the honey farm with more than 50 honeys on display for tasting. After a last night in the laid-back village of Mole Creek, we will drive you to the airport in Launceston.
